Deepika Padukone REACTS to Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar trailer: “The Chameleon is back”

The trailer of Dhurandhar was launched at Mumbai’s Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre in the presence of Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, director Aditya Dhar, and producers Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. The digital premiere followed soon after, with Ranveer sharing the trailer on his Instagram handle — and it was his wife Deepika Padukone’s comment that quickly grabbed attention.

Deepika wrote, “The Chameleon is back,” a nod to Ranveer’s reputation for slipping into diverse characters with ease. Her reaction echoed the early buzz around the film, which marks Ranveer’s return to an intense, performance-driven role.

At the launch event, Ranveer spoke about the experience of filming Dhurandhar, acknowledging how deeply he had immersed himself in the process. “I give my gratitude to the team. Sorry for pakav-ing you with all those motivational speeches on set. But we were really trying to push where we are,” he said, recalling how he would often take the mic to energise the unit. “I would always get on the mic and give motivational speeches — Chalo, iss baar kuch bada karna hai, gadar machana hai iss baar!”

Veteran actor Rakesh Bedi, who is part of the film, shared an anecdote that drew appreciation at the event. He revealed that on one occasion, long after Ranveer had wrapped for the day, he found him helping the crew instead of returning to his vanity van. “I saw an assistant managing the crowd wearing a topi and wondered who was working so well. Then I realised it was Ranveer. He didn’t do it for a few minutes — he was assisting for three to four hours. That’s the kind of commitment he showed.”

Dhurandhar is set to release in cinemas on December 5.
