Director Suparn S Varma finds a brother in Vishal Mishra while searching for the soul of Haq

Filmmaker and showrunner Suparn S Varma, known for his powerful storytelling in The Family Man 2 and Rana Naidu, is set to bring his next project, Haq, to the big screen. The film delves deep into questions of justice, truth, and emotional healing, drawing inspiration from one of India’s most debated court cases.

The complete Haq soundtrack, composed by Vishal Mishra, was released yesterday and has already started resonating with listeners. Each track adds an emotional layer to the film’s narrative — exploring love, heartbreak, and the pursuit of truth. The first two singles, ‘Qubool’ and ‘Dil Tod Gaya Tu’, struck a chord with audiences, with ‘Qubool’ celebrating pure love and ‘Dil Tod Gaya Tu’ echoing themes of pain and separation. The other tracks — ‘Haq Hai Mera’, Kya Paaya’, and ‘Jhoom Banware’ — each highlight different shades of emotion that reflect the film’s spirit.

While Suparn shaped the film’s depth through his direction, he felt that Haq needed a musical soul — something that would elevate its emotional impact. That search led him to Vishal Mishra, the acclaimed composer known for his heartfelt and soulful music.

Taking to Instagram, Suparn shared a heartfelt note about his creative journey with Vishal. He wrote, “The pursuit of art is a magical field. Sometimes you go to find music and discover a brother. Music was never a part of the beautiful script written by @reshunath, but I always heard it in my heart. While shooting the film, I kept finding moments to capture, knowing I would find the music. Then I found @vishalmishraofficial — and he found the soul of the film.”

He added that his bond with Vishal and lyricist Kaushal Kishore grew beyond work. “His family in London adopted me as we kept composing songs, and his collaborator and wordsmith @mekaushalkishore found the right words as we embarked on this journey. The music of #Haq is truly special — it will break your heart, heal it, and make your spirit soar.” Responding to the post, Vishal Mishra commented, “So much love brother, always here.”

Haq is directed by Suparn S Varma, produced by Junglee Pictures in association with Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, and is set to release in theatres on November 7, 2025.
