“Most people from the film fraternity were avoiding working with Rajkumar Santoshi. But Aamir Khan stood with him” – Mahaveer Jain

Superstar Aamir Khan celebrated his 59th birthday on March 14. On this special occasion, producer Mahaveer Jain expressed his regards. He also praised the actor for backing Rajkumar Santoshi for his film Lahore 1947 at a time when not many were willing to do so. The much-awaited period film stars Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol and Shabana Azmi.

Here’s what Mahaveer Jain said about the benevolent superstar:

We all know that in our industry, people follow success; most people want to be associated only with successful names. But there are few people like Aamir bhai, who are quite sensitive about people around them.

If you are going through a weak phase, or are not successful, Aamir Khan will still treat you the same way as someone who is successful. In fact, he will go out of his way to help you in his own way. I have witnessed this amazing quality quite closely.

Rajkumar Santoshi is one of the greatest directors of the Indian film industry. He is such a creative genius. Unfortunately, he was going through a very difficult time for the past 7-8 years. Most people from the film fraternity were avoiding working with him. But Aamir bhai stood with him, supported his talent wholeheartedly and wanted to bring back his magic to the theatres again.

I have high regard for Aamir bhai, for the way he backed Raj ji in his lowest phase of life. I know the story of the film which Raj ji and Aamir bhai are working on together and my heart says it will be a huge success. It’s based on a very profound thought which might just change the way we all think and live.
